Little Gables English Cottage House Plan
Little Gables Cottage

The distinctive style of true Cotswold residential architecture is echoed in our Little Gables Cottage.  Houses such as these are seen everywhere in the many famous villages that dot the countryside west of London.

Typical gabled roofs and simple, clean lines of houses made of buttery-tan Cotswold masonry have a uniform look and a timeless appeal.  While the materials and coloration may be the same from house to house, there is no end to how these materials are combimed in interesting cottages and manors so each seems to have its own, unique character.  Owners even attribute names that suit their particular house regardless of size.

Our 3,355 square foot Little Gables plan brings to mind these ancient houses but combines traditional styling with plans that are open, functional and light filled.  It is designed for today's lifestyles with yesterday's charm.

This Is A Nice Plan!

The main level sports a vaulted entry foyer with balcony above lighted by a dormer and accessed by a winding stair just inside the front door.  A visitor is greeted by a view through a large box bay window in the dining room to the terrace beyond.  To the left, two steps lead down to a generous great room with fireplace and vaulted ceiling with clerestory at each end.

To the right, a large, open kitchen overlooks a bright sunroom leading to the terrace.  The master bedroom is just off the foyer, has a fireplace, bay window to the front and a sumptuous master bath with walk in shower, his and hers walk-in closets and a direct connection to the laundry room.

Everything in this house was designed for convenience.

The upstairs hall oiverlooks the foyer below as light pours in from the dormer above the vaulted ceiling.  Two large bedrooms share a generous bath.

A study/loft at the top of the stairs makes for a great study, play or office space.  If desired, it could even be converted to a second bath, making it possible for each bedroom to have a large, private bath.  Space would even be left over for extra storage or a smaller study nook.

This house packs a lot of space into a little over 3,000 square feet!
